Touring Turkey / Bursa:

This is what happens from an Istanbulian perspective...
What are we doing this week-end...
lets go to Bursa !!! fine, only 3 hours driving away from Istanbul... but, we do leave at 8am, right girls ! sure, sure... 9am allready... come on, lets go... ups... 12.30pm, finally arriving Bursa !
Lets go & have a look at Grand Mosque (Ottoman, 14th century)...
- Daaaddd, we are hungry
OK fine, but lets at least first see the Greens (Green Mosque & Tomb / Ottoman, 15th century)
- DAD, we are...
- Kagan, lets go to the market first so that the girls could find a place to have Iskender (tightly packed meat roasted on a large vertical spit served on a layer of pide bread)...
this is my wife; Lale speaking... trying to direct the family to Grand Bazaar area (Ottoman, 16th century) first so that she can spend hours in buying silk & textile products.
You, the barbarians... I am not going to let you sack this beautiful city !
what is "the" offer that noone can refuse ?
Allright ladies, lets go up to Uludag (skiing resort / one hour driving away from the city center) and have a barbecue, Shall we ???
Yessss... all clear !
...
3pm now, lunch is over... girls, come on, time to get back home !
- Dad... did we come all the way to eat only !
- Kagan... we did not yet go to the market !!! lets spend the night over in a hotel with a thermal spa (a main attraction in Bursa)
- Dad... yessss... no school tomorrow !
Come on... did we not agree on returning to Istanbul in the evenning, ladies ?
- No, Dad... noone goes back home now !!!

And, of course, Dad has nothing to say since he is a lover of Bursa.
