Touring Turkey / Diyarbakir:

A city in southeastern Turkey with a population of appx 3 milion people, located on the banks of the river Tigris (of Mesopothamia).

Men everywhere... cafe houses loaded with men, restaurants, streets loaded with men... seems like not doing much... walking & hanging around... where are the ladies !!! Is this Turkey ???

Most amazing city walls (3.5 miles totally, Roman/Byzantine, 4th century A.D.), surrounding the city...
these walls... do they only surround the city or...

Mosques & minarets everywhere... whereever you look... Ulu Camii (Great Mosque) for example, dating back to 11th century, one of the oldest in Turkey.

And, my... my... a Syrian Orthodox Christian Church dating back to 3rd century.
Correction... correction... lets not make these people angry... the name is 'Syriac Orthodox', not Syrian ! very serious... disassociating themselves from the polity of Syria.
Our Syriac Orthodox citizens believe they are the best Christians ever !!! When you ask why, they look at you directly... isn't it obviouus, they are the only ones left speaking & practicing the native language of Jesus; Aramic (Aramaic).

Visitors will surely need a full day to see all.
