my reply, without a doubt, would first be: Izmir.

A modern city still with traditional features... smiling eyes, beautiful faces, friendly, creative.
And, it looks like everything is %50 cheaper comparing to Istanbul... so, with the money made in Istanbul, one could live like a sultan in Izmir !!!

A history of 7000 years,
a city of 4 million people,
old name widely known as Smyrna,
the birth place of Homer,
location to one of the Seven Churches of Revelation (of John),
a major port, a major airport,
one hour drive away from Ephesus,
a happy city she is... Izmir.
