Touring Turkey / Marmaris:

Bodrum has one... so does Antalya, Kusadasi (Ephesus)... lets built a theatre, says the Mayor or whoever of Marmaris... here is the perfect location, close to the sea, to the hotels, using the angle of the slope of the hill, he thought. A few nature lovers around remind him that the location they are planning to built the new theatre is a forest area... no worries, cut all those trees, he says !

My mother-in-law wakes up one morning... all the "tak-tugs", not knowing what is happening, walks out and understands that they are cutting all the trees of the hill facing her house.
She shouts full of anger... "stop"... they do not... she gets the first thick stick she can find and runs to stop the workers cutting those beautiful pine trees... all alone
... "if you cut one more tree, I will blow your heads" she says... very serious she is !!! Then, the neighbors arrive, supporting her.

Today, if you feel like having a look at the theatre of Marmaris, you still see some trees left at the auditorium. I have this great relish in noting that these trees were saved by my mother-in-law.

Although her house is recently surrounded by all these new hotels loaded with tourists, "mother Kefeli Munush" still lives in Marmaris. Her two daughters, in deep love with their mother, won't even dare asking her to move to Istanbul.
Girls are grown up, having their own lives, she knows...
That house is home. That house is her life.
Every blossom in her garden is a newly born baby, needing her attention.
Every single tree gives better fruit with her close care.
She talks to them, shares her feelings !

Girls know...
Mother Kefeli Munush breaths better in Marmaris.
